Maid of honor Speech?

So i’d love to hear any kind of advise, tell me what’s funny what’s not, I don;t care about grammar mistakes only I’ll be seeing this anyway. (The names were changed to protect the privacy of the bride and groom). Here it is:

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Lauren, our gorgeous bride’s little sister. In all my research for this speech (in other words, googling, “Maid of honor Speeches” about a hundred times) everything says to give the bride and groom some advice about being newlyweds. Now I don’t know what you guys thing, but in my opinion advice about marriage from your very unmarried 16 year old sister is about the worst advice you’ll ever get. But the next thing all these websites said was to have a nice story about how you met and how perfect you guys are for each other. so here it goes, when Sarah and Chuck got back together in 2008 it was obvious that no one and nothing would keep them from being in love. Not because they were so obvious about how much in they love they really were, but because they were so respectful to each other. They didn’t have to prove that they were in love by being so in your face about it, because of how natural it was. So it was a slippery slope from the time Beth came home on cloud nine with the text from chuck asking to see her again. I think we still have the wedding magazines that Sarah bought the very next day. So less than 2 years later the house started filling with wedding things again; only this time Sarah wasn’t the only one buying it. Now it was from all the guests sitting here today. Sarah’s room became so packed with wedding stuff that 3 weeks ago Sarah had to move into my room. What a fun 3 weeks it was. But I did get a little piece of advice for Chuck from these three weeks of being roomies. No matter what, DO NOT wake her up in the morning. Even if she’ll lose her job, don’t worry about it. She can get a new job, but you can’t get a new head. She’ll saying things to you that she wouldn’t normally even think fully awake. She’ll throw things, call you names, kick and scream. But don’t file for divorce just yet, because the minute she’s out of bed and fully awake, she’ll be happy as can be. She denies ever saying or doing anything. It’s been this way for as long as I can remember. Anyway, to close this thing up, I just want to say thank you Phill and Sarah for being such an amazing example to me in your courtship, so maybe one day I’ll actually have some good advice for newlyweds. Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for; goodbye!

Who should wear a tux?

I’m getting married this summer and it is formal. I’m definitely going to have tuxes for me (obviously), the best man, groomsmen, future father-in-law, and ring bearer. However, I wasn’t sure about my dad, stepdad, and my future wife’s stepfather. If there was no money involved, then fine, everyone can get a tux. However, my dad is poor and has not been a regular part of my life. Also, my stepdad has helped me out more than my dad, but I’d hate for him to have one and not my real father.

I read everywhere that for a formal wedding, the groom’s father must have one, but I think it’s a waste of money for two stepfathers, and my dad to rent one when all they’ll be doing is walking in and sitting in the front row. I don’t understand that. Please don’t give me the pictures speech either. It’s not like they’ll come in street clothes. They’ll still be in their “sunday best.”

What do you think?
I have been informed that my stepdad doesn’t care to wear a tux and by “doesn’t care” I mean he’d prefer not to. Where does this leave me now?

Thank you so much for all the input.

Wedding Speeches…..?

I was wondering what order do the speeches go in for the reception? My father is saying, the best man and the maid of honor, but we are confused on who goes first.
Thanks

If the bride and groom pay for their wedding, who welcomes the guests?

I’m paying for my wedding, but I was wondering – should my father make the first speech welcoming the guests? I kind of want to do that since my dad is my guest too. Would that be inappropriate?

How long should my Maid of Monor speech be?

My college roomie has charged me with the responsibility of being her Maid of Honor.

However, I am having a bit of trouble putting together a toast for the wedding day. Specifically, the length.

Since many of the groom’s quests who will be attending the wedding only speak Spanish, I was thinking that it would be nice to do a dual toast (an english version and the spanish translation).

I was wondering, if I choose to do this, how long the toast should be.

wedding speech …… what to say ?

I’m the father of the bride and as it’s my first time to give a public speech ( so to speak ) I’m finding the prospect of having to do this quite daunting and I’m a little nervous about it. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to overcome my nervousness and also if you have any ideas on a speech that is not long, yet appropriate for the occasion.

Who all is supposed to make a speech at a wedding? And what are they?

I know the best man and maid of honor make a speech. But what are they? We kind of thought the best man toasts the groom and the MOH toasts the bride, is that right? Also, the brides parents welcome the groom to their family and the groom’s parents welcome the bride? Also, we should make a thank you speech. We have one friend that we would really like to say something. Is it appropriate to have him "toast the couple"? Is this too many? Not enough? Are they the typical wedding speeches or are they different? HELP!! lol
